This is my Body

The day after President Trump’s inauguration 250 thousand people in Chicago marched together for women’s rights, a common worry among these protesters is the attack on Planned Parenthood and the things that may come along with it, like abortion becoming illegal. Many people think that closing Planned Parenthood is a gateway to violating women’s rights starting with the right to safe and affordable healthcare.

Our documentary is exploring the potential defunding of Planned Parenthood, we wanted to find out what effect the defunding of Planned Parenthood would have on people who depend on the health facility for its many services. We interviewed John Jansen, who is a pro-life activist who wants to see Planned Parenthood shutdown. We spoke with Felicia Tolliver who is a user of Planned Parenthood and thinks there would be negative results if the facility was to be defunded. We also spoke with Cecile Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood foundation.

Anybody who believes in equal access to health facilities and affordable services can engage in this discussion and determine possible solutions to what seems like an inevitable future for Planned Parenthood.
